ANSA Hotel Kuala Lumpur x The Giving Bank x Starbucks Malaysia x Museum of Illusions Christmas Charity Event 2018 with the disabled members of Dual Blessing Bhd.

KUALA LUMPUR, DECEMBER 2018- ANSA Hotel Kuala Lumpur strongly believes in giving back to society and creating awareness to the public. It is one of our duties to care and give back through our company core values which are held throughout the year. As hotel business challenges continue to increase, the intrinsic value of our service and guest satisfaction will continue to expand through our Corporate Social Value (CSV) programme.

ANSA Hotel Kuala Lumpur’s CSV programme which happened in the month of December was the first in-house charity event for the hotel and was championed by the hotel’s Sales and Marketing department. To end the year and to display the Christmas spirit ANSA Hotel Kuala Lumpur wished to have a super special Charity event for the disabled members of Dual Blessing Bhd. and collaborated with The Giving Bank, Starbucks Malaysia and Museum of Illusions.

At around 11am, eleven persons with disabilities and wheelchair bound arrived at ANSA Hotel Kuala Lumpur with their five helpers. Associates from the hotel, The Giving Bank, Starbucks Malaysia and Museum of Illusions were on hand to assist and greet each member. Speeches given by Mondi Mecja Head of Commercial for Berjaya Hotels & Resorts, Dr Janson Ang Founder of The Giving Bank and Antonija Strilic Consultant of Museum of Illusions kick started the Christmas Charity event.

To truly feel the Christmas festivities, ANSA associates and the sponsors accompanied Dual Blessing Bhd. to sing Christmas Carols on ANSA Walk for all the public to hear. This brought much joy to everyone and captured a large audience. As one of the sponsors, Starbucks Malaysia generously provided lunch for everyone in a sectioned off area of their ANSA store. This was a great chance to connect with the disabled and discover more about how Dual Blessing Bhd. has had a positive impact on their lives.

The main activity of the event was kindly sponsored by Museum of Illusions, located on level 1 of ANSA Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The disabled were thoroughly entertained with multiple activity stations which stimulate learning and are fun for all. Much time was spent in the museum before everyone returned to Starbucks Malaysia for the final event of the day. The gift giving ceremony was particularly poignant for the disabled because all the items on their wish list for the Dual Blessing Bhd. welfare centre had been fulfilled. Sponsor, The Giving Bank gifted the members a large box containing electrical & IT items such as wireless mouses, extension plugs and pen drives to greatly improve their IT lessons at the centre. ANSA Hotel Kuala Lumpur provided them with groceries such as rice, cooking oil, coffee and so on which was much appreciated.

Before returning, the disabled were all presented with a goodie bag filled with gifts from each of the sponsors and they thanked everyone for their kind hospitality and wished a Merry Christmas to all.

We hope that this event and contribution to the members of Dual Blessing Bhd., will help to create more awareness among the public about people with disabilities; Saint Francis of Assisi once said “Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
