REIMPOSITION OF TOURISM TAX ON FOREIGN TOURISTS

 

Effective from 1 January 2023, foreign tourists staying at registered accommodation premises in Malaysia are subject to pay a Tourism Tax of RM10 per room per night. The reimposition of Tourism Tax on foreign tourist is mandatory and regulated by the Ministry of Finance Malaysia and the Royal Malaysian Customs Department.

 

Under the Tourism Tax (Exemption) Order 2017, Malaysians and Permanent Residents with MyPR cards are exempted from paying the Tourism Tax.

KUALA LUMPUR, June 2022 – ANSA Hotel Kuala Lumpur once again has made a comeback after merely 2 years of stay-at-home phase for everyone. The hotel has revived the atmosphere by giving away free popcorns to everyone at ANSA Walk, a popular covered walkway connected to ANSA Hotel with myriads of retails outlets from international brands and gastronomy.

 

This one-day event was held on 23rd June 2022 from 4pm to 8pm in which targeting all the passers-by during the prime time when people off to home after a busy day at work. This was a happening event which ANSA Hotel was proud to put a smile on passers-by face after receiving the popcorns.

 

In an effort for creating more happening atmosphere and raising brand awareness of the hotel, ANSA Hotel Kuala Lumpur is planning more events and activities to be held at ANSA Walk. It is a good time to cherish back those days before the pandemic phase.
